The 4th Istanbul Kidney Transplant Course

2023-08-21by serpilk

The 4th Istanbul Kidney Transplant Course, organised with the support of ITN and ESOT, was a great success! We provided important lectures on kidney transplantation with expert speakers from around the world. Participants gained a comprehensive knowledge of kidney transplant topics and improved their practical skills through hands-on training and case studies. The live surgical broadcasts provided an interactive experience for the participants, further enhancing the success of the course. Our sincere thanks go to all the speakers and participants.

Seven live online surgeries from five transplant centres were performed and discussed during the meeting.

Through this course, participants achieved the following learning outcomes

– To understand the evaluation of kidney donors and recipients, the critical features of surgical transplantation, tissue typing and the medical management of kidney transplant recipients.

– Gain up-to-date knowledge of acute developments in the clinical management of transplantation and its complications

– Evaluate real cases of donor and recipient evaluation, cross-matching and infectious complications of transplantation

– Critically reflect on ways to improve current practice and the patient pathwayCourse Chairs
